With the global emphasis on environmental protection, in the automotive field, new energy vehicles shoulder the purpose and mission of building a good ecological environment and walk in the forefront. The automotive industry explores the way of environmental protection from different technological routes. Electric vehicle is one of the main technology routes of new energy vehicles, and its core component, the on-board charger (OBC), has become increasingly mature after several years of development. However, high efficiency, reliability, easy control and high cost performance have always been the goal of solution providers and component suppliers.


This scheme is a set of OBC scheme based on Infineon AURIX series MCU. For the first time, single-chip MCU is used to complete the operation task of the original DSP+MCU. The power device adopts Infineon TRENCHSTOPTM 5 series fast IGBT, which reduces the total BOM cost of the system. The scheme has the advantages of high reliability, few peripheral components and low BOM cost. This scheme meets the AEC certification, and can achieve the corresponding functional safety requirements with MCU of different safety levels.


The basic topology of OBC is composed of a bridgeless PFC+LLC cascade, which reduces the heat loss and BOM cost by eliminating the rectifier bridge. The nominal product is 3.3KW OBC, but the actual product design reserves another set of two-way 3.3KW OBC hardware circuits. Circuit block diagram as shown below, MCU is Infineon TC233LP, the main converter power device adopts Infineon fast IGBT AIKW40N65DF5.
